SAVE THE DATE: November 15th - Legwork for Lungs 5K & Mile Walk!
Published on: April 6, 2016
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who participated in the last year’s Legwork for Lungs 5K & Mile Walk! Without the contribution of every runner, walker, volunteer, or donor that we had we would have never been able to raise the $2,750 that went directly to Dr. Paiek’s lung cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as this event’s proceeds.
Make sure to mark November 15th on your calendar as race day this year. We just launched a completely brand-new website, www.legworkforlungs.org. We hope you’ll notice some changes: we’ve revamped our logo, we’ve expanded to social media (please make sure to like us on Facebook). Also, Legwork for Lungs is now part of the USA Track and Field Association’s Grand Prix with a value of 500 points.
We wanted to let you know that we’re still on the map - in fact, our race day preparations for this year’s big day are in full swing. However, our 5K is not only for hardcore Personal Record chasers. Our goal is to make sure that our community takes good care of their lungs and makes sure to use them. Whether it’s by cheering a friend or family member on, walking our Mile Walk, or just having a nice Sunday morning, we want to see as many people as possible our event. We’ll have runner prizes, Tug-of-War, carnival games, music, and free coffee with pastries just like last year.
P.S. Want to help out by volunteering? Know a business who would be willing to sponsor our event? Have any good ideas about how we can spread the word? Reach us at info@legworkforlungs.org or 908-340-6642. We’d love your input!
